Police and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission seized a laptop computer from a Malaysiakini journalist after questioning the journalist over a report on the transfer of a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) prosecutor.

This is the investigators' second visit to Malaysiakini 's headquarters in Petaling Jaya in the probe on the report.

The investigators questioned two journalists for about one hour and left at about 4.30pm.

Lawyer New Sin Yew, who is assisting Malaysiakini , was present when the statements were taken.

During the interview, the police asked about the source or sources of the Malaysiakini report which the journalists refused to answer.

More Malaysiakini journalists are expected to be questioned over the matter.

Investigators also questioned a journalist from The Star on a report on the same issue today, the daily reported earlier.

The authorities seized computers from Malaysiakini and The Star last Friday.

Malaysiakini last Monday reported that MACC deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Shazalee Abdul Khairi was transferred.

Ahmad Shazalee was part of the team probing claims that funds flowed from former 1MDB subsidiary SRC International into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s personal bank account.

Attorney-General Apandi Ali denied that Ahmad Shazalee was transferred out of MACC, but Malaysiakini 's report did not specify this.

On Wednesday, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nancy Shukri told the Dewan Rakyat that Ahmad Shazalee was transferred internally.

Malaysiakini stands by its story.
